For the winter season from October 29, 2023 to Saturday March 30, 2024, theGerman Munich Airport will offer in total 172 destinations : 43 long-haul destinations, 116 medium-haul destinations, as well as 13 cities in Germany.
This winter, Lufthansa, the first airline operating at Munich Airport, will once again offer new destinations. For the first time, flights will be operated to Bangalore, India, from the capital of Bavaria. This new long-haul route will be operated three times a week by Airbus A350.
In addition to this new long-haul route, Lufthansa is also starting flights to new destinations in Europe: Oulu in Finland will be offered twice a week, and Arrecife on the Spanish island Lanzarote once a week. After a hiatus of several years, flights to Glasgow will resume once a week and Marrakech will once again be served twice a week. The long-haul destinations Beijing and Shanghai, already added by Lufthansa this summer, will be continued this winter. Routes to Bangkok and Los Angeles will now also be served by Airbus A380.
Other airlines are also expanding their offerings. For example, SalamAir already connects Munich to Muscat and Salalah, in the Sultanate of Oman, twice a week since September 30. Uzbekistan Airlines will start flying to Tashkent, also twice a week, and Norwegian airline Wideroe will add Bergen to its winter flight schedule in January 2024.
From November, on Wednesdays and Sundays, BeOnd Airlines, the Maldives’ new airline, will connect Munich to Male using an Airbus A319 with Business Class seats only. SmartLynx will offer a twice-weekly service to Ras al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. Additionally, Etihad Airways will increase the frequency of its existing route to Abu Dhabi from one daily flight to ten per week. In the traditional tourism sector, the still relatively young Estonian airline Marabu will start serving Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife in winter from the Bavarian capital.
