France delivers 150 drones to Ukraine

Following an announcement by the Minister of the Armed Forces, France financed and delivered 150 Delair drones to Ukraine. If the model(s) have not been mentioned, three models of aerial drones are currently offered in the company’s catalog. Reconnaissance drones allow Ukrainian soldiers to recover information about an area without risking their lives and are therefore as important as the many kamikaze drones used in Ukraine.

An announcement

The announcement was made on September 6 by Sébastien Lecornu, Minister of the Armed Forces. In total, 150 drones chosen by Ukraine have received funding from France and are already being delivered. The company is based in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne, France) and has been developing and producing aerial reconnaissance drones since 2011. These are open to businesses, public services and the military. Since the beginning of this year, it has also included an underwater drone subsidiary, Delair Marine. Naval Group, SNCF, the European Commission, etc. have already worked or continue to work with Delair. Note that this company represents the first manufacturer of professional fixed-wing drones in France.

If kamikaze drones often make the headlines, reconnaissance drones are extremely important on the front line: they help guide artillery strikes, recognize the terrain and the Russian forces positioned in an area, guide the vehicles through visible obstacles,… all without having to endanger the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.
