You appreciated our first article concerning the human aspects at Exotismes. As promised, we offer you our second topic on Exoticisms. We will discuss the figures, the objectives, the destinations… According to Gilbert Cisneros, 2022 was an exceptional year and 2023 is also turning out to be a good year.
2022 keeps its promises
Exotismes is one of the rare tour operators to present clear figures. No wonder, they are excellent. In 2022, Exottismes will have achieved a turnover of 170 million euros. This is an increase of 28% compared to 2019. The increase in the average basket, to 1,590 euros in 2022 (+19% compared to 2019), partly explains this increase. The tour operator will have transported 107,000 customers, including a large number partly in the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean.
What about the year 2023?
We might as well say it immediately, the year promises to be an absolute record year. The increase in turnover would be +15% compared to 2022 and +40% compared to 2019. Gilbert Cisneros is counting on a turnover of 190 million euros!

Zanzibar enters the winter season and prepares to be a hit
Exotismes is approaching a strategic season with the coming winter. The tour operator’s offering is expanding, particularly in Zanzibar, a destination launched in 2022. “Zanzibar has done very well, and even outperformed,” notes Didier Sylvestre, deputy general director in charge of sales. Exotismes sent 2,000 customers there in its first year, and naturally strengthens its offering on the island. New establishments are included in the brochure such as the LUX* Marijani, the future Attitude hotel, which has bought the Matemwe Bungalows Zaswi, a charming hotel in Zanzibar.
We can point out that 28% of departures are combined with safaris in Tanzania.
Mauritius is now the No. 1 destination in terms of business volume for Exotismes
Since the reopening of the destination in November 2022, customers have wanted to return or stay in Mauritius. Exotismes therefore added stock. For example, we find the LUX* Belle Mare which has had a facelift. The Veranda Grand Baie is also reopening its doors after work, as is the Hilton Mauritius. While the Anantara Iko Mauritius, whose opening was delayed by the health crisis, is new.

Renewal of wedding vows! a trend !
Already married? What better way than heading to a beautiful destination to renew your vows. More and more married couples are choosing a dream destination to affirm their love. Mauritius and Seychelles would have an official protocol for renewing vows with a document certified by the authorities.
Ease of booking online
It’s a leitmotif at Exotismes. Each product in the brochure must be able to be reserved in 5 clicks maximum. For example, 60% of stays in Seychelles are booked online.
Gilbert Cisneros promises to soon unveil a major technological novelty, quite unique on the French market.
