Emirates and AEGEAN extend their codeshare

Emirates and AEGEAN announced theextension of their codeshare agreementnotably adding the transatlantic link ofAthens to New York-Newark.

Emirates customers can now make a stopover in Athens before benefiting from AEGEAN’s connections to popular Greek and European destinations, while AEGEAN customers will have access to Emirates flights between Athens and Dubai as well as between Athens and New York-Newark.

Thanks to the codeshare partnership, AEGEAN offers flights to 17 domestic destinations and 53 destinations in the Europe and Middle East region from its Athens hub, while customers can access Emirates’ global network of over 140 destinations spanning six continents from its Dubai hub. The combined network of the two airlines will reach 200 destinations worldwide.

The codeshare agreement between Emirates and AEGEAN was initially launched in August 2022, providing travelers with a seamless booking experience from the Emirates network to eight Greek domestic airports via Athens, using a single ticket and a single baggage policy. In return, AEGEAN leverages its code on Emirates-operated flights between Dubai and Athens, allowing its customers to benefit from seamless travel between the two hubs. Some 16,800 passengers have benefited from this partnership to date since its launch in August 2022.
