EasyJetScotland’s largest airline, yesterday celebrated transporting more than 60 million passengers to and from the airport from Edinburgh.
To mark the occasion, the airline surprised the Wilson family who were flying from Edinburgh to Madrid, with free return flights from easyJet. The landmark celebration comes after the announcement of new winter routes from Edinburgh to Rovaniemithe gateway to the Lapland finnishand the coastal town from Hurghada in Egypt. New flights to Rovaniemi will launch on December 3 and are expected to operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. The new route is expected to prove popular with Scottish families visiting Santa’s famous home this winter.
New flights from Edinburgh to Hurghada will launch on November 6 and should run twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. EasyJet is the UK’s number one carrier to Egypt and North Africa, which continues to be popular with British holidaymakers for guaranteed winter sunshine, wide sandy beaches and world-famous coral reefs.
This summer the airline welcomed an additional aircraft to its base at Edinburgh Airport, to meet demand in the Scottish capital this summer, and launched new summer routes from Edinburgh to beach and city destinations popular, especially the Greek island of Santorini, Catania in Italy and Antalya in Turkey, giving Scottish customers even more choice for their summer getaway.
The airline is running its largest flying schedule from Scotland this summer and is expected to operate 6.3 million seats to and from Scotland, around one million more than in summer 2019.
EasyJet now serves customers in Edinburgh and the surrounding area with convenient connections to 45 airports in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
