The Turkish airline SunExpress is committing to a total of 90 Boeing 737 MAXs, including 45 firm examples, and becomes a new 737-10 customer.

SunExpress: new Boeing 737-10 customer

This is not yet a firm contract but the Turkish airline, a joint subsidiary of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, has committed to ordering up to 90 medium-haul Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, including 45 firm ones divided into 28 Boeing 737- 8 and 17 Boeing 737-10s. The latter therefore attracts a new customer. At the last count given by Boeing last July, the 737-10 had recorded more than 800 firm sales.

A first tranche of 42 Boeing 737-8s

Boeing therefore confirms with one of its historic customers since SunExpress has already ordered the Boeing 737 MAX and more precisely 42 Boeing 737-8s, nine of which have been received. The delivery schedule for the upcoming new order has not been specified. SunExpress carried 22 million passengers in 2022 on a network of 175 lines serving 30 countries.

CFM Leap contract immediately

Who says order of Boeing 737 MAX, says order of CFM Leap engines at the same time since Boeing’s medium-haul aircraft are only offered with CFM Leap.
