Despite economic difficulties in Europe, hoteliers are rather lucky

Hotel reservations made during the month of September in several European countries indicate that German, Italian, Spanish tourists are the most enthusiastic when it comes to planning trips for the coming weeks and months, according to data from Affilired. However, demand from British tourists is falling. Demand in France remains low on average

“Early booking”

Affiliated considers “early booking” sales where the arrival date at the hotel is three months (or more) after the reservation date

In France, 21.11% of hotel reservations in September are “early booking”. A rate almost similar to our English friends.

Germany 19.25%

Spain 14.51%

France 21.11%

Italy 19.43%

United Kingdom 22.24%

Demand is robust in Germany and Spain

Hotel reservations from Germany and Spain increased by 33%. In France, the increase is close to 14%. In contrast, in the UK there was a fall of 8.7% in September.

The graph also shows a strong growth of 130% in bookings from Italy, but this increase would be due, in part, to the reactivation and integration of certain campaigns in the issuing market, so at present the data would not be comparable
