The sun has its habits in certain corners of France… It’s no mystery! Accompanied by an azure blue sky or a few fluffy clouds in their darkest days, the sunniest cities display the appearance of a radiant summer each season.

In order to delight holidaymakers looking for vitamin D, Holidu, the holiday rental booking portal has decided to highlight the sunniest French cities.

The travel booking platform has placed twenty-three municipalities in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur region on this list

Antibes

Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes) would come first with 285.50 hours of sunshine per month, ahead of Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes) with 284.98 and Cagnes-sur-Mer (Alpes-Maritimes), with 294.94 hours of sunshine monthly.

Like any classification, let’s take our precautions

Only the source “Holidu.fr” appears at the bottom of the table. The other criterion, “average annual temperatures”, also does not specify which readings are integrated. Last year, another ranking listing the 20 sunniest cities in France, produced by Météo-France and relayed by Futura, showed quite different results with Marseille – Toulon – Ajaccio – Nice… The site then collected data from the average annual sunshine calculated by Météo-France between 1991 and 2010.
