The Canadian company SAF+ Consortium will provide sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to the Franco-Dutch air group Air France-KLM.
The first deliveries of e-fuel are planned by 2030, as provided for in a memorandum of understanding signed at the last Paris Air Show between the two partners. ” Consortium SAF+ is proud to support the Air France-KLM Group’s strategy, which goes beyond the European mandate in the incorporation of sustainable fuel. We are enthusiastic to participate in the development of the SAF sector in France within the framework of this agreement. The SAF meets the criteria of the roadmap set by the French government which aims to be there for 2030 with a production volume in line with the significant needs of the aeronautical sector. commented Jean Paquin, President of Consortium SAF+, whose production plant is based in Montreal.
Leading producer of PtL sustainable aviation fuel (Power to Liquids) in North America, Consortium SAF+ is currently developing a commercial project in Quebec for Canadian aviation while establishing international partnerships to meet the growing demand for sustainable aviation fuel within the framework of international and European regulations (CORSIA and RefuelEU) to reduce CO2 emissions.
“ Our government is ensuring that Canada is a leader and strategic partner of choice in sustainable aviation. Thanks to the work of Canadian innovators like Consortium SAF+, our vision is becoming a reality. This is why we are proud to see the company establish a new strategic partnership with the Air France-KLM Group which will allow us not only to accelerate the green shift of the Canadian aerospace sector, but also to support the transition to a carbon neutral economy. says François-Philippe Champagne, Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry.
