From this month of September, on the domestic route linking Zurich to Geneva, SWISS only offers rates that include a contribution to the reduction of the CO2 emissions related to air transport.
At the start of 2023, SWISS has already added the “ Green » which allows passengers to participate on a voluntary basis in the 20% reduction CO2 emissions on all flights. On its domestic Zurich-Geneva route, it now only offers “ Green »to offset carbon emissions, with a new tariff which allows the contribution to be distributed as follows: 50% for the purchase of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and 50% by investing in climate protection projects.
“ We are aware of having a great responsibility towards society and the environment. We have therefore set ourselves a goal of zero net CO2 emissions by 2050. This ambitious goal can only be achieved by taking numerous measures. The systematic implementation of a Green price on all domestic flights is an important new step in our strategy. We will continue to develop our offers to make air travel more sustainable », says Dieter Vranckx, CEO of SWISS.
