Evaneos, a leading French player in responsible travel, announces the effective appointment of Aurélie Sandler and Laurent de Chorivit to the positions of general directors. Eric la Bonnardière, currently Chairman and CEO of Evaneos, remains Executive Chairman of the board of directors.

On this occasion, the new governance reaffirms its commitments to a better redistribution of value and goes further in the fight against overtourism and the reduction of CO2 emissions, at a time when the sector is responsible for 8% of gas emissions. greenhouse effect (2019).

Evaneos stops the sale of “city breaks” (by plane) stays of less than 5 days from January 2024 and has multiplied by 2 the number of train journeys since 2020, by 2.5 the number of trek or hiking itineraries , and by 3.5 the number of cycling routes.

Already today, thanks to the actions undertaken towards its customers: out of the 30 most popular destinations, only two are exposed to overtourism, Greece and Italy. In addition, of all the destinations offered, more than 90% of accommodation is offered by local and independent hotels selected on the basis of eco-responsible criteria.

Evaneos’ economic model is based on the development of countries. Thus, 85% of the price of a trip goes back to the local economy.

“The travel industry is at a tipping point, the traditional model has become obsolete! We need to rethink it in its entirety. Of course, there are no simplistic solutions. The whole challenge of our mandate is to provide answers commensurate with the complexity, without making any compromise on the findings, and thus participate in building the “new travel order”, by working hand in hand with the actors and institutions in the sector. This ambition pushes us to move forward with an overtourism index currently being developed to provide more clarity to customers when choosing their destination.” declare Aurélie Sandler and Laurent de Chorivit, co-CEOs of Evaneos.
