Porter Airlines celebrated yesterday the 17 yearshighlighting a year of transformation with the launch of its new Embraer E195-E2 regional aircraft and the introduction of flights departing from Toronto-Pearson International Airportin addition to flights departing from its Toronto-Billy Bishop base.
Over the past 12 months, our Canadian airline has hired more than 1,000 new staff and received 22 new E195-E2s. Its fleet has reached 51 aircraft, including 29 Dash 8s. It announced the launch of 26 new routes and 14 new destinations.
In Canada, Porter Airlines now offers flights west to Victoria and east to St. John’s. It is also strengthening its network in the United States with five destinations in Florida, as well as Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas starting this fall and winter. Latest announcement, Porter Airlines will add a transborder service between Toronto-Pearson and Las Vegas-Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), with one daily flight starting March 5, 2024.
Its on-board service includes the offer of free beer and wine served in glasses as well as a selection of snacks for all passengers. Both the Dash 8 and E195-E2 regional aircraft feature a two-by-two row configuration, meaning there are no center seats, providing greater comfort for all passengers. Additionally, Porter Airlines is the only airline in Canada to offer free Wi-Fi service to all passengers on flights using the E195-E2. And fresh meals are offered to everyone on long journeys.
