Air Transat and its partner CAE announced the launch of theAscension Academya new student pilot training program which allows the airline to build a pool of qualified pilots.
The program offers aspiring pilots a pathway to obtain their license at CAE’s flight school and the opportunity to begin their career as a co-pilot after obtaining their type rating with Air Transat. Applications are now being accepted for training which will begin in February 2024.
Successful candidates will be admitted to the Ascension Academy program and will receive a conditional employment letter from Air Transat for a co-pilot position. Upon completion of their training and type rating, graduates will become fully qualified co-pilots and fly Airbus A321 and A330 aircraft across the Canadian airline’s global network. They will be based at Montreal (YUL) and Toronto (YYZ) airports to fly to cross-border and transatlantic destinations.
The Ascension program provides structure and support to student pilots throughout their journey, from classroom to cockpit, with a team of CAE and Air Transat instructors and pilots providing mentorship at each step.
