Swissportspecialist in airport services, picked up from the airline Air Malta a contract relating to the ground services at London Heathrow Airport.
The Zurich company has been in charge of airport services such as passenger check-in, boarding gate management and baggage handling since September 1. Cleaning of the planes will begin in October, Swissport said.
It will provide services for 16 weekly flights during the summer, then 14 flights per week during the winter for Air Malta at London airport. For its part, Swissport provides ground services at London-Heathrow, operates two lounges and manages four air cargo warehouses. It has been offering its services to airlines at London-Heathrow since 2011.
