The Belize Tourism Board organized an eductour from October 11 to 18 with four French tour operators: Les Maisons du Voyage, Amplitudes, Marco Vasco and Fairmoove. Accompanied by the GroupExpression agency, which has represented the destination since 2017 on the French market, the tour operators traveled up and down this small Central American country.
After exploring the Caribbean coast in San Pedro and Placencia, the group headed to the Mayan mountains to explore the San Ignacio region, visiting several lodges and the Mayan site of Xunantunich. In terms of attendance figures, the weather is good for the French market in Belize: of the 372,614 travelers who visited Belize in 2022, 4,024 are French.
The progression is constant over the post-covid period with a jump of +300% vs. 2021, while the first half of 2023 already shows almost 40% increase (NB. In 2019, 6,875 French people visited Belize). The Tourist Office continues its promotional efforts on the French market with various ongoing marketing operations in partnership with tour operators and OTAs, a press trip in November and a new participation in the Salon de la Plongée in Paris next January.
