THE security agents at the airport Barcelona-El Prat are called to a indefinite strike from 1August 0 nextwith inopportune disengagements during the busiest days.
These work stoppages will take place every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m., between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., announced the Trade Union Confederation of Independents and Civil Servants (CSIF).
The CSIF is calling on the security guards’ employer, the subcontractor I-SEC Aviation Security, to take several measures to remedy the “beastly overload of work“. Among other things: 10-minute break per hour, free parking assistance, a language bonus of €12 for bilingual agents and two non-working weekends per month. The unions are also calling for better rotation of positions of responsibility.
In the summer of 2017, Barcelona-El Prat had already been the scene of a long strike by security guards and baggage handlers, then employed by the service provider Eulen. The movement ended with the intervention of the Spanish Civil Guard, deployed after weeks of blockade, very long queues and traffic disruptions.
