The tourist tax adopted by the Bali government will start on Valentine’s Day. From February 14, 2024, all foreign citizens arriving in the country will be subject to payment of a tax of US$10, which will also be required for children.
Cash or credit card payment counters will be installed at airports, but authorities are working on an online advance payment system that could start before the measure comes into force.
According to local authorities, the funds collected through the tourist tax will be spent on environmental and tourism infrastructure projects.
