Unusual. The airline company Austrian Airlinesbelonging to the Lufthansa group, canceled 92 of its flights on Saturday due to the holding of a cabin crew meeting.
The company’s works council convened a “work meeting in accordance with labor legislation” from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Vienna Airport, as reported by the Austrian Union of Transport and Services. But holding this meeting on a Saturday, one of the busiest days for passengers, forced the company to cancel 92 flights, mainly on short and medium-haul lines. Some 8,000 passengers were affected by the cancellations, not counting delays and schedule changes.
The Austrian company reassigned passengers to flights of other airlines in the Lufthansa group.
