American Airlines has placed a firm order for four Embraer E175 aircraft which will be used by Envoy Airits subsidiary dedicated to domestic flights in the United States.

The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer specified yesterday in a press release that the four E175s, the sale of which is set at $230.6 millionwill be added to its fourth quarter 2023 order book, while deliveries are expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The fleet of Embraer aircraft operated by Envoy Air will increase from 130 to more than 150 aircraft by the end of next year following the latest order, the Brazilian planemaker noted, which follows an order for seven more aircraft E175 announced in June.

The E175 is the backbone of the US regional network, with more than 620 aircraft sold and an 86% market share since 2013. We thank American Airlines and Envoy for their long partnership with Embraera said Martyn Holmes, CCO of Embraer Commercial Aviation. The E175 regional jet, with a capacity of 70 to 86 passengers, entered service in North America in 2005 and has since dominated the industry with its comfort, high performance and efficiency. Customers appreciate Embraer’s two-by-two seating, meaning no one has to endure a middle seat.
