Sun Country Airlines has been selected by the U.S. Department of Transportation to serve Washington Reagan National Airport from Lansing, Michigan.

The airline will operate daily round-trip service on the route, with its flight originating at Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and stopping in Lansing before continuing to Washington Reagan National Airport. The carrier says it will announce flight times and dates in the near future.


Sun Country Airlines will offer daily service with Boeing 737-700s or Boeing 737-800s offering both First Class and Coach service and operating from Terminal 2/Humphrey in Minneapolis/St. Paul via Lansing’s Capital Regional International Airport to Washington National Airport.

“This service will provide a great benefit to customers in both Minnesota and Michigan by providing a competitive low fare alternative,” says Stan Gadek,president and CEO of Sun Country Airlines.

The carrier will begin service on December 22 to Orlando, Fort Myers, Las Vegas, Cancun and Montego Bay from Lansing’s Capital Region International Airport.

In addition, Sun Country Airlines recently announced twice-weekly service from Minneapolis/St. Paul to London Gatwick Airport commencing May 27, 2011 and operating through September 4, 2011.
