Branson, Missouri will become the 79th destination in Southwest Airlines’ route network, the carrier announcing it will launch service to the popular tourist destination in March.
Southwest Airlines will start service at Branson on March 9, 2013, with daily non-stop flights to Dallas Love Field, Houston Hobby Airport and Chicago Midway Airport, and Saturday-only service to Orlando.
Dallas-based Southwest will assume all Branson flying from subsidiary AirTran Airways, with AirTran’s operations at the Missouri destination fully converting to Southwest Airlines.
To promote the new Branson service, Southwest has launched a fare sale with one-way fares of $79 between Branson and Dallas Love Field, Chicago Midway Airport and Houston Hobby, as well as $99 to Orlando.
These fares must be booked by September 6, for travel between March 9 and April 11, 2013 (a blackout date of April 2, 2013, applies). To book, visit www.southwest.com.
Southwest has also renewed its flight schedule to include travel between March 9 and April 12, 2013. In the new schedule, Southwest will begin service in five new markets. The carrier also will add seasonal service to the flight schedule to accommodate Spring Break travel.
From March 9, the airline’s new non-stop services will include twice-daily round-trips between Newark Liberty International Airport and Nashville; daily Newark-Austin and Newark-New Orleans service; a daily Dayton-Orlando round-trip; and a daily Key West-New Orleans round-trip.
