SkyWest Airlines is launching daily non-stop service from Portland, Oregon to Kansas City, Minneapolis-St. Paul and Omaha on February 18, 2016, on behalf of Alaska Airlines.
The routes are in addition to new Portland-Austin service which Alaska Airlines announced last month.
“With these new routes, Alaska Airlines will offer more than three times the number of nonstop destinations from the Rose City than any other carrier,” says John Kirby, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of capacity planning.
To promote the new routes, Alaska Airlines is offering introductory one-way fares from $139 on flights from Portland to Kansas City, Minneapolis-St. Paul and Omaha.

Alaska Airlines also is offering members of its Mileage Plan double mileage points on flights from Portland to Minneapolis and Kansas City.

In addition to beginning operations for the Alaska Airlines network on July 1, 2015 with seven previously ordered Embraer 175s, SkyWest, Inc. subsidiary SkyWest Airlines announced an order for eight more on June 15, 2015. SkyWest ordered these aircraft to replace before the end of 2016 eight Bombardier CRJ700s it has operated on behalf of Alaska Airlines
To qualify, travelers must be members of Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan, register at .alaskaair.com and travel between February 18 and March 18, 2016. Customers who have not yet joined Mileage Plan can enroll at no cost online.
SkyWest Airlines will operate all three new services between Portland and the U.S. Midwest with 76-seat Embraer 175s, each of which is fitted with 12 seats in first class and 64 in coach.
The schedule for SkyWest Airlines’ new Alaska Airlines-network service from Portland to Kansas City calls for its flight to depart Portland International Airport (IATA code PDX) at 9:35 a.m. from February 18 and arrive at Kansas City International Airport (MCI) at 2:59 p.m. local time.
In the other direction, the return flight will leave MCI at 3:40 p.m. daily from February 18 and reach PDX at 5:45 p.m. local time.

SkyWest’s schedule for its Portland-Minneapolis Alaska Airlines service will see its flight pushing back from the gate at PDX at 10:55 a.m. daily from February 18 and landing at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) at 4:16 p.m. local time.
In the other direction, the return fight will vacate its gate at MSP at 5:00 p.m. daily frm February 18 and touch down at PDX at 7:08 p.m. local time.
On the Portland-Omaha route, the SkyWest/Alaska Airlines schedule calls for its flight to leave PDX at 6:50 p.m. daily from February 18 and get to Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA) at 11:49 p.m. local time.
In the other direction, the return flight will depart OMA at 7:00 a.m. daily from February 19 and reach PDX at 8:45 a.m. local time.
