In its flying program for the 2012-13 winter season, British scheduled carrier Monarch is adding more service frequencies to existing routes as well as launching new winter services.

New for the winter schedule, as a continuation of Monarch Airlines’ 2012 summer program, are the Italian destinations of Venice, Verona, Milan and Rome. The airline will now operate year-round services to the four Italian cities.

Monarch Airlines will operate four-times-weekly service throughout the winter from Birmingham Airport (IATA code BHX) to Milan, Venice and Rome. The airline is offering one-way fares from £34.99 one way and £81.98 return, including taxes and charges.

From Manchester Airport (MAN), Monarch will operate five-times-weekly service to Milan, as well as four weekly flights to Verona’s Valerio Catullo Villafranca Airport (VRN) and three-times-weekly flights to Venice. Fares are from £33.99 one way and £80.98 return, including taxes and charges.

From its headquarters base at London Luton Airport (LTN), Monarch will also operate three flights a week to Rome, with fares from £35.99 one way and £82.98 return including taxes and charges.

Monarch Airlines’ winter flying program will also operate to existing destinations throughout Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Croatia, Greece, Egypt, Turkey and Gibraltar.

“The additional flying across the Monarch network over the winter months is reflective of the booking strength we are already seeing for our new Italian routes over the summer period,” says Kevin George, managing director of Monarch Airlines. “Our winter flying program is now on sale and we expect to see demand for our Italian destinations and our existing winter destinations to continue to flourish.”

Monarch operates scheduled and charter flights from a number of UK airports, including Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester.

Scheduled flights operate to destinations throughout Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Egypt, Turkey and Gibraltar.

In addition to flights, Monarch offers a range of vacation packages, accommodation options, car hire and travel insurance.
