Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris is launching three-times-weekly service between Guadalajara and Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport in March.
Tickets for the new service are now available for purchase. Volaris is offering an inaugural one-way fare of $114, for buy-ahead tickets, plus any services bought using Volaris’ ‘Tú Decides’ pay-per-service plan, which allows travelers to select services they require for their trips (such as advance seat selection).

Although Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris initially operated only the Airbus A319, because of the type’s suitability for operations from the carrier’s hot-and-high base at Toluca,Volaris has increasingly added A320s to its fleet as the airline’s network has grown to include more low-altitude destinations and higher-traffic routes
“We are extremely pleased to increase our international destination offering to a city of the caliber of Houston, which now becomes our second incursion into the Texas market,” says Enrique Beltranena, chief executive officer of Volaris.
Volaris’ schedule for the Guadalajara-Houston service will see its flight departing Guadalajara’s Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (IATA code GDL) at 8:25 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and arrive at Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) at 10:35 a.m. local time.
In the other direction, Volaris’ flight will leave IAH at 11:35 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and land at GDL at 2:20 p.m. local time.
Since beginning operations in March 2006, Volaris has carried more than 6 million passengers on flights between Mexico and the United States.

Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris Airlines is based at Toluca near Mexico City and operates a fast-growing network of Mexican domestic services and routes between mexico and the United States using a fleet of Airbus A319s and A320s
The carrier operates an all-Airbus fleet of 50 Airbus A320-family aircraft. The airline will operate its Guadalajara-Houston round trips with both of its current fleet types, 144-seat Airbus A319s and 174 seat Airbus A320s.
“Volaris seeks to unite family and friends on both sides of the border, on one of the youngest fleets operating in the Americas,” says Beltranena.
“We are the Mexican airline with the greatest number of destinations reached and flights to the US, plus to date we have transported over 6.5 million passengers between Mexico and the U.S. since we started operations, a number that is on the rise thanks to our growth efforts in 2014 and our expansion plans for the upcoming year,” adds Beltranena.
