The airline’s inaugural Flight B6 871 (JetBlue’s two-character IATA flight prefix is B6) arrived at Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) in Bridgetown from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on October 1.

The sold-out A320 operating the flight was welcomed to the most easterly island of the Caribbean with a traditional water-cannon salute upon arrival as the captain and first officer waved the American and Barbadian flags from the cockpit windows. JetBlue now serves Barbados with daily nonstop flights year-round from New York.
