On behalf of Alaska Airlines, its sister regional carrier Horizon Air will begin twice-daily non-stop service between Boise in Idaho and Spokane in Washington on August 24.

To promote the new service, Alaska Airlines is offering introductory one-way fares priced from $69 in each direction on the new Horizon Air route.

Horizon Air has now painted many aircraft in its all-Bombardier Q400 fleet in the colors of sister mainline carrier Alaska Airlines, since the two carriers operate a combined network under the Alaska Airlines name. Horizon Air does, however, have a number of Q400s painted in special-theme liveries commemorating the colors of major universities in the cities it serves

In order to obtain the introductory fares, tickets must be purchased by March 26. Travel under the intorductory fares must be completed by November 18, 2015.

“Boise-Spokane is a highly requested market for us and is particularly important for business passengers in the Pacific Northwest,” says John Kirby, Alaska’s vice president of capacity planning. “Our schedule has both morning and evening departures, which are designed to allow day trips in both directions.”

According to Alaska Airlines, its network offers more non-stop flights to more destinations from Boise than any other airline

With the addition of Spokane, Alaska Airlines (including Horizon Air flights) will fly to eight destinations from Boise: Lewiston, Idaho; Portland, Oregon; Sacramento; Salt Lake City; San Diego; San Jose; Seattle; and Spokane.

Horizon Air will operate the new Boise-Spokane round-trips, each sector of which is scheduled for a block time of just under 70 minutes, with 76-seat Bombardier Q400 turboprop regional airliners.

The regional airline will begin operating one of its two daily Spokane-Boise round-trips on August 24. This flight will leave Spokane International Airport (IATA code GEG) at 3:20 p.m. daily from August 24 and land at Boise Airport (BOI) at 5:28 p.m. local time.

In the other direction, Horizon Air’s return flight will depart BOI at 7:25 p.m. daily from August 24 and reach GEG at 7:34 p.m. local time.
