Allegiant Air has inaugurated non-stop service between Duluth in Minnesota and Phoenix-Mesa in Arizona, the flight representing the only non-stop service between Duluth and Arizona.
The carrier is offering one-way fares from $99.99 plus taxes on the route. Allegiant’s $99.99 offer is not available on all flights and must be purchased by October 26, 2011, with travel to be completed by May 15, 2012.
A “convenience” fee of $17.00 per passenger is included in the introductory one-way fare. A fee of $14.99 per segment will apply when the ticket is purchased through Allegiant call centers. Purchases made at any Allegiant Air airport ticket office will not incur a convenience or call center fee.
“Allegiant’s low-cost direct service to the Phoenix-Mesa market is a wonderful addition for our region’s travelers from Northeastern Minnesota, Northwestern Wisconsin and even Canada,” says Brian Ryks, Duluth Airport Authority’s executive director. “Since Phoenix-Mesa is the third-top travel destination from Duluth International Airport, we look forward to expanding our partnership on this route with Allegiant.”
The new flights operate twice each week between Duluth International Airport (DLH) and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (IWA), with service on Fridays and Mondays.
Allegian Air’s flight departs DLH at 7:45 p.m. and lands at IWA at 9:10 p.m. local time. In the other direction, the airline’s flight leaves IWA at 1:55 p.m. and touches down at DLH at 7:05 p.m. local time.
