Air Uganda is launching three-times weekly service from Ugandan city Entebbe to Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi, on October 31.

The airline, which styles itself as the “Wings of East Africa”, will fly the route on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It will fly between Entebbe International Airport (IATA code EBB) and Bujumbura International Airport (BJM).

According to Air Uganda, Burundi offers adventure and a wide variety of leisure activities. Safari lovers can visit one of three national parks: Ruvubu National Park , Rusizi National Park and Kiriba National Park, known for its chimpanzees.

Lake Tanganyika, the longest freshwater lake in the world, attracts many divers and other visitors to its beautiful beaches. Muhweza and Muyange are Burundi ’s most renowned and popular thermal springs.

Along with two Bombardier CRJ200 regional jets, Air Uganda operates two McDonnell Douglas MD-87s, each confiugured to seat 99 passengers in two cabin classes

Meanwhile, visitors to Uganda can track lions in the savannah, or walk through the rainforest to spot the rare and famous silverback gorilla. Uganda is home to over 1,000 bird species, which makes the country an important destination for birding lovers.

Air Uganda operates scheduled flights from Entebbe International Airport, Uganda ’s largest commercial airport, to various countries in East Africa and Central Africa.

Entebbe is a significant international meeting point, especially for travelers who are flying to other East African destinations such as Kenya or Tanzania. Air Uganda flies three times daily to Nairobi, six times weekly to Dar es Salaam, twice weekly to Zanzibar and twice weekly to Mombasa. Along with its new service to Bujumbura, the carrier plans to serve additional routes in the future.

Air Uganda has been in operation since November 2007 and is the designated national airline for Uganda. Its fleet includes two Bombardier CRJ200s and two McDonnell Douglas MD-87s.
