Airlock towards the exit of chapter 11

The Scandinavian airline Sas continues its exit from American chapter 11 and recorded significant operational performances during the quarter between May and July with nearly 7 million passengers transported, a quarterly figure higher than that of the last quarter before the pandemic.

The increase in demand and passenger traffic resulted in a 54% increase in SAS’s total operating revenues on an annual basis and pre-tax profit which amounted to SEK 457 million, or SEK 41 million. euros.

In detail, Sas recorded a continued positive trend in passenger demand with a total that in the first seven months of 2023 increased by 36.8% compared to the same period last year, affected by the strike pilots. In addition, the available seat capacity increased by 35.9 percent and the aircraft load factor by 81.5 percent, an increase of almost four points compared to the same period last year.

Finally, a proud reference to Star Alliance, of which Sas is a member, which also won the title of best airline alliance last June at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards.
