SkyWest Airlines to Launch Sacramento-San Diego, San José-Burbank Flights for Alaska Airlines

On behalf of Alaska Airlines, SkyWest Airlines will launch three-times daily service linking San Diego with Sacramento, and Burbank with San José, on March 16, 2017.

According to Alaska Airlines, the non-stop services will connect California fliers to London, Beijing and Tokyo on Alaska’s partners British Airways, Hainan Airlines and Japan Airlines.


In addition to beginning operations for the Alaska Airlines network on July 1, 2015 with seven previously ordered Embraer 175s, SkyWest, Inc. subsidiary SkyWest Airlines announced an order for eight more on June 15, 2015. SkyWest Airlines will operate the routes with 76-seat Embraer 175 jets, wearing the Alaska Airlines livery.

Each SkyWest Embraer 175 has 12 seats in first class, 12 premium extra-legroom economy seats and 52 seats in the main cabin.

Onboard amenities include Wi-Fi Internet access, and Alaska Beyond Entertainment, which includes free and premium entertainment direct to customer devices and power outlets in the first class cabin.

SkyWest’s schedule for its Alaska Airlines San Diego-Sacramento route calls for its first flight of the day on the route to depart San Diego International Airport (IATA code SAN) at 7:00 a.m. daily from March 16, 2017 and land at Sacramento International Airport (SMF) at 8:43 a.m.

Its second flight will leave SAN at 12:10 p.m. faily from March 16 and arrive at SMF at 1:55 p.m.

The third flight of the day will push back from the gate at SAN at 5:00 p.m. and reach SMF at 6:45 p.m.

In the other direction, SkyWest Airlines’ first Alaska Airlines flight of the day will vacate its gate at SMF at 9:25 a.m. daily from March 16, 2017 and touch down at SAN at 11:00 a.m.

The second flight will leave SMF at 2:35 p.m. and get to SAN at 4:20 p.m.

SkyWest’s third flight of the day on the route will push back from its SMF gate at 7:25 p.m. and land at SAN at 9:10 p.m.

On the San José-Burbank Route, SkyWest’s first Alaska Airlines flight of the day will leave Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport (SJC) at 6:50 a.m. daily from March 16, 2017 and reach Burbank Bob Hope Airport (BUR) at 7:59 a.m.

Its second flight will depart SJC at 2:15 p.m. and touch down at BUR at 3:22 p.m.

SkyWest Airlines’ third daily flight on the route will push back from its gate at SJC at 6:50 p.m. and arrive at BUR at 7:57 p.m.

In the other direction, SkyWest Airlines’ first Alaska Airlines flight will vacate its gate at BUR at 8:35 a.m. daily from March 16, 2017 and land at SJC at 9:42 a.m.

Its second flight will depart BUR at 12:30 p.m. and touch down at SJC at 1:39 p.m.

The carrier’s third daily Alaska Airlines flight on the route will leave BUR at 5:05 p.m. and reach SJC at 6:14 p.m.
