Kuwait Airways has taken delivery of the first of five new A330-200s it has agreed to lease, becoming a new operator of the A330.
In February 2014, Kuwait Airways announced it would lease seven new Airbus A320s and five A330-200s and was ordering 10 A350-900s and 15 A320neo-family jets, to start off a major fleet renewal program.

Kuwait Airways took delivery of the first of five new leased Airbus A330-200s on June 25, 2015, becoming a new operator of the A330
Kuwait Airways’ first A330-200 is outfitted in a three-class configuration with 17 full-sleeper first class modules, 30 business class seats and 165 economy seats.
The airline’s A330-200 also has a new in-flight entertainment system installed and offers in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the cabin.

The bulk of Kuwait Airways’ fleet renewal plan involves orders and leases for 37 new Airbus jets, including five leased new A330-200s
“The delivery of our first A330-200 marks a key milestone towards enhancing our fleet,” says Al Rasha Al Roumi, Kuwait Airways’ chairperson.
“The addition of this highly efficient aircraft to our fleet ultimately translates to unbeatable operating costs, best-in-class services, unrivaled comfort and will maintain our schedule integrity and assist in increasing our load factors,” adds Al Roumi.
