Aircraft leasing and financing company CIT Group Inc. has firmed into an order the commitment it signed in July for 15 Airbus A330-900neo widebodies and five A321ceo jets.
CIT Group became one of the launch customers of the Airbus A330neo family upon signing an initial commitment at the Farnborough International Airshow 2014.

On December 3, 2014, lessor CIT Group firmed into an order the commitment it had announced at the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2014 for 15 Airbus A330-900neo widebodies and five A321ceo single-aisle aircraft
“Given our long-term leadership on the A330 program, we are proud to be one of the first customers to sign a purchase agreement for the all-new A330neo aircraft,” says Jeff Knittel, president of CIT Transportation & International Finance.
“These agreements will enable us to provide fuel-efficient solutions to our customers as CIT continues to be a leader in providing early access to the most sought-after aircraft for our customers,” adds Knittel.
Airbus launched the two-member A330neo program in July, specifying both the A330-800neo and A330-900neo. The A330-800neo is a development of the A330-200 and the Airbus A330-900neo is a development of the Airbus A330-300.
First deliveries of Airbus A330neo jets are scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The Airbus A330neo family will be fitted with latest-generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, aerodynamic enhancements and new cabin features.
According to Airbus, the A330neo models will reduce fuel consumption over their current-generation counterparts by 14 per sent per seat.
In addition to greater fuel savings, A330neo operators will also benefit from a range increase of up to 400 nautical miles and all the operational-commonality advantages of the common-cockpit Airbus Family.
To date, almost 11,000 Airbus A320-family jets have been ordered (including A320neo-family aircraft) and more than 6,200 delivered, to 400 customers and operators worldwide.
