Azerbaijan Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
With the delivery of the first of two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners on order, Azerbaijan Airlines becomes the first airline in the Commonwealth of Independent States to operate the 787.

The aircraft will play a key role in the Baku-based airline’s strategic plan to expand its long-haul fleet, according to Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Based at Heydar Aliyev International Airport (IATA code GYD), which serves Baku, state-owned Azerbaijan Airlines is the national carrier of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan Airlines serves a network of more than 20 destinations in the United States, China, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Middle East and Europe.
To date, 58 customers from around the world have ordered 1,055 787 Dreamliners.
