Airbus will now perform completion of the aircraft’s cabin interior. After that, the A380 will enter a final phase of ground testing and flight testing at the manufacturer’s Hamburg facility.

The Airbus facility in Hamburg is located at Finkelwerder Airfield on the south bank of the River Elbe a few miles west of Hamburg’s city centre and main harbor areas.

During the A380’s pre-delivery ground and flight tests, all cabin systems will be thoroughly tested, including air flow and air conditioning, lighting, galleys, lavatories, seats and in-flight entertainment systems.

Subsequently, the A380 will fly back to the Airbus widebody delivery center at Toulouse, in preparation for its contractual delivery to the South Korean airline in the second quarter of this year.

Asiana Airlines has firm orders for six A380s. It will initially operate the aircraft from Seoul on regional services within Asia and then it will introduce its A380s on to transpacific routes to the U.S.
