


AirAsia has taken delivery of its first Airbus A320neo, at a ceremony at Airbus’ Finkenwerder production facility near Hamburg.
This aircraft is the 17th A320neo delivered to date.

AirAsia took delivery of its first Airbus A320neo on September 7, 2016. The aircraft was the second to be delivered with CFM International LEAP-1A engines
It is also the first CFM International LEAP-1A powered A320neo to be delivered to a customer in Southeast Asia and the second worldwide.
The first A320neo delivered with LEAP-1A engines was handed over on July 19 to Turkish carrier Pegasus Airlines, which has ordered 57 A320neos and 18 A321neos to date.
Equipped with a Space Flex Cabin, AirAsia’s first A320neo is configured with 186 seats.
AirAsia is Airbus’ biggest airline customer for the A320 family, having ordered a total of 575 aircraft. Of these, 404 are A320neo-family jets.
The airline’s latest firm order for A320-family aircraft specified 100 A321neos. The deal was signed at the Farnborough International Airshow in July.
Since Airbus launched the A320neo program in December 2010, the manufacturer has received firm orders for nearly 4,800 A320neo-family jets, from 87 customers.
