On November 19, 2013, Air Algérie signed a memorandum of understanding at the Dubai Airshow 2013 for three A330-200 passenger aircraft, as part of the carrier’s continued growth plans. The carrier had previously ordered five A330-200s and had taken delivery of all of them

The carrier will deploy the new aircraft on medium- and long-haul routes from Air Algérie’s hub at Houari Boumedienne Airport (IATA code ALG), which serves Algeria’s capital Algiers.

Air Algérie had previously ordered five Airbus A330-200 widebodies, all of which have been delivered.

“This new order for A330s reinforces our commitment to a family of aircraft which already helps us to achieve our ambitious expansion plans, in a profitable and sustainable manner,” aded Salah.

The Airbus A330 family, which spans 250 to 300 seats and includes Freighter, VIP, and Military Transport/Tanker variants, has now attracted orders for some 1,280 aircraft and over 1,000 A330s are now flying with more than 100 operators worldwide.
