Airbnb has announced the trending destinations and the most booked accommodation categories for this winter. Globally, from Osaka (Japan) to Sao Paulo (Brazil), destinations popular with travelers for the winter season are mainly concentrated in the Asia-Pacific region and South America.
Osaka is the most searched for, followed by Hong Kong; Quebec City, Taipei in Taiwan, Rio de Janeiro, Hanover in Germany, Wanaka in New Zealand, São Paulo, Pattaya in Thailand, and finally Tokyo.
As for specific segments, families seem to choose far-flung destinations ranging from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the paradise beaches of the Bahamas.
Among foreign destinations, the panorama extends from cities with a strong cultural heritage to seaside destinations with temperate climates and mountain resorts. In France, Tignes and Colmar are among the most sought after.
