L’Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) of Moldova announced the suspension of the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) of the company Air Moldova due to the lack of aircraft with valid airworthiness certificates.

The only aircraft operated by Air Moldova (an Airbus A320) is currently under maintenance and planned work has not been completed since April. Its certificate of airworthiness having expired on August 21, 2023, the airline is not eligible to hold an AOC without an certificate of airworthiness certificate showing the operational condition of his aircraft. The suspension of Air Moldova’s AOC will be in effect until October 31, 2023, following a request from the operator.

Therefore, passengers affected by the cancellation of Air Moldova flights are advised to seek compensation for their tickets. The AAC recommends that these requests and complaints be addressed to the airline in the first instance, and if they are not satisfactory, to refer the matter to the Civil Aviation Authority. In addition, a consumer helpline is available for consultation.

The Air Moldova airline had in previous months suspended many flights, due to financial difficulties linked in part to the conflict in Ukraine neighbor.
