There suspension of flights from Paris towards the Malian capital Bamako and the Burkinabe capital Ouagadougou is extended by an additional week, while service to the Nigerien capital Niamey remains suspended until further notice.
Air France has decided to extend for the third time – this time until September 17 inclusive – the suspension of its flights to and from Mali and Burkina Faso, flights to Niger remaining stopped.until further notice“, reported BFMTV.
The tricolor company, the main airline between Europe and Africa, had suspended its flights to Bamako (7 flights per week), Ouagadougou (5 flights per week) and Niamey (4 flights per week) on August 7 after the closure of Niger’s airspace, the scene of a coup d’etat on 26 July.
On September 4, the military regime in Niamey reopened Niger’s airspace, allowing Air France to fly over the country to serve other African destinations.
