Air France extends Raleigh, swaps with KLM in Amsterdam

The airline company Air France will extend next summer its new seasonal service between Paris And Raleigh Durham, which will be launched at the end of October. AT amsterdamit will partly take over the line from Lyons to its sister company KLM Royal Dutch Airlinesleaving him “in exchange” that since Marseilles.

The three flights per week of the French national company between Paris CDG and the airport of Raleigh Durham will be launched on October 30, 2023 and operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that can accommodate 30 passengers in Business class, 21 in Premium and 228 in Economy (279 seats). But the line which was to stop at the end of March 2024 will be extended during the summer season, further becoming daily according to AeroRoutes. The Air France Dreamliners will then take off at 1:30 p.m. to land at 4:25 p.m., with return flights leaving North Carolina at 6:35 p.m. to land the next day at 8:30 a.m.

Air France will be without competition on this route (its 14th to the United States), where it will replace its joint venture partner and in the alliance SkyTeam, Delta Airlines (which had inaugurated it in May 2016, then relaunched in August 2022 after the suspension linked to the Covid-19 pandemic).

In the Netherlands, following the example of what happened in Rennes in the spring, exchanges of best practices within the Air France-KLM Group continue at the airport ofAmsterdam Schiphol. As of October 29, 2023 according to the same source, two of the four daily rotations to Lyon-Saint Exupéry will be provided by Air France in an Embraer 170 (departures from France at 9:35 a.m. except Sunday and 2:55 p.m., returns at 11:55 a.m. and 5:10 p.m.)

The two airlines are without competition on this axis, as on the one connecting Amsterdam to Marseille-Provence where the same day Air France will be replaced by KLM on the three daily flights, which will then be operated by Cityhopper in Embraer. They will then be scheduled from Lyon at 6:30 a.m., 2:25 p.m. and 5:20 p.m., with returns from Amsterdam at 9:30 a.m., 12:20 p.m. and 5:20 p.m.
