After an interruption of more than three years, the Chinese national company Air China is back toMunich-Frantz Josef Strauss Airport.
As of yesterday, Air China is again operating daily flights between the Chinese capital Beijing and Munich, the capital of German Bavaria. Flights are operated by Boeing 777-300ER. Air China’s last passenger flight between Beijing and Munich took place on March 23, 2020, as the intercontinental route was suspended due to the Covid pandemic. In January 2022, the Chinese national company had already launched an air freight service between Beijing and Munich, with six rotations per week in Boeing 777-F 100% freighter.
In return for Air China’s return to the Bavarian capital, the German flag carrier Lufthansa relaunched its link between Munich and Beijing in early July, which was also suspended for three years. Lufthansa flights are operated by Airbus A350-900, at the rate of three rotations per week. From Munich-Frantz Josef Strauss Airport, Lufthansa also flies to Shanghai.
