The SNPNC-FO, the majority union of Air Caraïbes cabin crewsaid in a statement extending “again the call to stop work started on August 11, 2023, until August 25, 2023“,
The union said it had “received no satisfactory response to date” of the management on its claims concerning the working conditions and remuneration. The airline’s flight attendants’ strike action had already been extended until Sunday 20 August.
“The air hostesses, stewards and ground staff, already tired and exasperated by their conditions, are desperate to see that the management of Air Caraïbes prefers to spend the fruits of their efforts on charters from other companies in order to limit the effects of the strike rather than investing in their employees“, can we read in the press release of the SNPNC-FO.
According to the management of Air Caraïbes, no flights are canceled : “Air Caraïbes confirms that its flight program will be maintained thanks to reinforcement charters and non-striking employees“, clarified to theAFP an airline spokeswoman. The French airline, specialist in the Caribbean as its name suggests, operates a fleet of six long-haul A350s and three A330s and serves Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, The Bahamas from Paris-Orly. (San Salvador) and Mexico.
