Air Canada announced the addition of a new transatlantic link insured all year round between Montreal and Madrid from next May, as part of the enrichment of its international flight offering for the summer season 2024.

The five weekly Montreal-Madrid flights, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, will be operated in a Boeing 787-8 with 255 seats and offering the choice between Air Canada Signature services with fully reclining seats, Premium Economy and economy . On the outward journey, flight AC834 will take off from Montreal at 8:30 p.m. to arrive in Madrid at 9:40 a.m. (the next day); the return flight AC835 will leave the Spanish capital at 1:15 p.m. to return to Montreal at 3:20 p.m.

Furthermore, the maple leaf airline plans to operate next year at 100% of its transatlantic capacity compared to the peak period of summer 2019, the pre-pandemic reference period, and take full advantage of the vigorous recovery in its largest international market.

For the 2024 summer season, Air Canada will operate 51 transatlantic connections to 30 cities in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India. The Toronto and Montreal airport hubs will respectively occupy the third and fifth largest positions in North America in terms of capacity per day for a transatlantic destination.

The Canadian airline plans to increase frequencies to popular destinations in the Mediterranean, including a notable expansion of three flights per day to Rome from Toronto and Montreal and daily service to Milan and Venice.
