At the Dubai Air Show, Air Arabia, the leading low-cost transport operator in the Middle East and North Africa, announced on November 14, 2023 a significant milestone in its continued commitment to improving its fleet and operations. Following a signing ceremony attended by senior executives from CFM and Air Arabia at the 2023 Dubai Airshow, the airline announced the order for 240 CFM Leap-1A engines to power its current order of 120 Airbus A320neo family aircraft, including the all-new A321XLR.

…120 aircraft and a multi-year services agreement

The agreement includes a multi-year services agreement and aftermarket engines. The agreement will support Air Arabia’s fleet growth and future expansion. The Leap-1A engines are expected to power Air Arabia’s current order of 120 Airbus A32-neo family aircraft, which includes 73 A320neos, 27 A321neos and 20 A321XLRs, scheduled for delivery in 2025. Air Arabia has become a customer of CFM in 2003 when the airline started operations with an Airbus A320 powered by CFM56-5B. The company currently operates a total fleet of 71 Airbus A320ceo and A321 neo-LR aircraft.
