After a hiatus of more than three years due to restrictions related to the COVID-19North Korea’s national airline Air Koryo resumed commercial flight service between Pyongyang And Vladivostok in Russia.
The flight that arrived in Vladivostok from Pyongyang carried no passengers. Passengers were seen preparing to board the flight for its return trip to Pyongyang. Although flight schedules have not been officially announced, Russian media have reported on Air Koryo’s upcoming flights. Flights between North Korea and Russia have since been suspended February 2020 due to the pandemic.
North Korea has approved the return of its citizens who were overseas after years of strict restrictions at the borders during the pandemic coronavirus, state media reported on Sunday as the isolated country opens its border to passenger travel. The announcement comes days after an Air Koryo flight from Pyongyang landed at beijing for the first time since the start of the pandemic-related lockdowns in 2020, amid the slow reopening of one of the most politically and economically isolated countries in the world.
