Following the Hamas attack, Air France suspended its flights between Paris and Tel Aviv sine die for security reasons due to the offensive launched this Saturday by Hamas from Gaza against Israel. The reason is the attack by the Palestinian Islamic group and the declaration of war made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to the portal FlightAware, this Saturday at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, 16% of incoming or outgoing flights (46) were canceled and 23% (64) were delayed. This is one of the first economic consequences of Hamas’ surprise attack.
For its part, Transavia, the low cost of the Air France-KLM group, also canceled a flight from Paris-Orly which was due to arrive after midnight in Tel Aviv.
Later in the day, almost all European and North American airlines also stopped flights until further notice.
Until now, Air France operated two daily flights between Paris and Tel Aviv and as many in the opposite direction. This Saturday, the first of the day operated in each direction, but not the second.
What’s happening at Israeli airports
However, until now, Israeli airport authorities have not canceled commercial flights from Ben Gurion Airport, nor from Ramon Airport near Eilat, the country’s second international airport.
Furthermore, Israel is asking all carriers to review their security protocols. This calls for caution in operations at airports around the world.

In a note published this Saturday afternoon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against traveling to Israel and the Palestinian Territories. For those already present in these territories, it is advisable to stay at home.
