A new low-cost Bordeaux-Bucharest

While the carrier Volotea overtook Air France this summer in France, another low-cost airline is teasing air transport by launching a line between Bordeaux and Bucharest (Romania).

Twice a week from December 21

Moldovan airline HiSky will launch flights from Bucharest International Airport to Bordeaux Mérignac Airport on December 21. HiSky will operate the service twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays).

HiSky also flies to Paris

The new route will be the seventh international destination operated by HiSky from its base in Bucharest.

Iulian Scorpan, CEO of HiSky said: “We have already been operating flights to Paris from Baia Mare and Chisinau for over 2 years, but when it comes to Bucharest, we wanted to create a connection with another region of France, less explored by other companies”. This is also Volotea’s strategy.

The airline also announced that it will soon reach the 2 million passenger mark

HiSky currently operates a fleet of eight Airbus A320s with an average age of seven years. The airline offers regular service from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Baia Mare, Iasi and Chisinau to domestic and international destinations.
