The 1st of April, La Fonda Heritage Hotel will open its doors in the old town of Marbella, becoming the first Relais & Châteaux establishment in Andalusia.
The hotel is made up of three restored historic buildings
The building that houses La Fonda was a private residence, later it became a church and later a school. All this before designers Jaime Parladé and Duarte Pinto Coelho transformed it into a luxury hotel in the 1960s.
La Fonda Heritage Hotel Marbella combines 16th century architecture with modern amenities
During the renovation project to restore the architectural splendor of the place, remains of the Nasrid period from the 13th century, the nave of the Church of San Sebastián from the 16th century, as well as murals and frescoes from the 18th century, were were found.

The boutique hotel has 20 rooms including three suites. The Heritage Suite is the most special room as it has the original dome of the church dressing room and the 18th century murals of “Los Ángeles”, dedicated to the “Virgen de los Remedios”.
The hotel offers three gourmet restaurants, open patios and a sky bar.

Rui Silva, Director of Relais & Châteaux for Spain and Portugal, commented that “Relais & Châteaux values the preservation of history and recognizes the same spirit in La Fonda Heritage Hotel’s commitment to preserve the building and restore its magnificent architecture.
