The US State Department has approved an FMS sale to the Government of Lithuania for medium-range missiles (AMRAAM) worth approximately $100 million, in surface-to-air version.

Sale of AMRAAM missiles to Lithuania for $100 million.

The Department of State has approved an FMS-type sale to the Government of Lithuania. These are AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air (AMRAAM) missiles and associated equipment, at an estimated cost of $100 million. Lithuania has requested to purchase thirty-six Raytheon AMRAAM AIM-120C-8 missiles. Also included are various equipment, spare parts, consumables, accessories and support for repair and return of equipment.

This sale most likely concerns the ground-air version of the AMRAAM (SL-AMRAAM or NASAMS) because Lithuania does not operate a fighter aircraft.
