United Airlines has placed a firm order for 30 Embraer 175 jets and optioned 40 more, potentially taking United’s firm order to a total of 70 aircraft. If United Airlines exercises all 40 options, the order has an estimated value of $2.9 billion at current list prices, according to Embraer.

Scandinavian Airlines is continuing its expansion in the Polish market by launching a new service on October 29 between Copenhagen and Łódź. As of then, SAS will be offering more than 70 direct flights a week between Scandinavia and Poland, on eight routes.

Starting in October, Flybe will operate the 12 Embraer 190s on Finnair routes, for Finnair. According to the two carriers, the move forms part of Finnair’s efforts to improve the profitability of its European network, and it offers a platform for growth for Flybe Nordic, a joint venture between the companies.
